It would be easy to say that diving makes people calmer. Divers say it constantly, and they are probably right. But "probably right" is not a standard.
Use wellbeing questionnaires with informed consent and appropriate privacy. FP20 is a reflection tool: its score is not a diagnosis, medical clearance or proof that a programme works. Consult the research registry for study methods, validation evidence and results. FP20 records self-reported experience across four areas of Fundamental Peace. It does not measure brain activity. Changes in scores invite reflection and further study; they do not by themselves establish a treatment effect or diving fitness.
Research on slow breathing in land-based settings does not establish a breathing rate for scuba. Keep land exercises separate from underwater practice; comfort, ventilation and the demands of the dive come first.
This is what separates a standard from a story. Measured, not assumed.
Mindful Diving Institute
Three books. Three ways to deepen your practice.
Mindful Diving develops attention and the wider practice through MD-1 to MD-5. Mindful Breath explores breathing awareness. The Diving Mind explores fear, doubt and decisions. The specialties are optional and purchased separately; none replaces agency training or rescue skills.
