Every level, MD-1 through MD-5, is a one-time payment of $111 USD. There are no subscriptions and no hidden renewal fees for the e-learning itself.

Once you enroll, your access to the course materials is yours for life. Your certification itself is revalidated every three years to keep the standard current — the study materials remain open regardless.

Do I need to be a certified diver to start MD-1?

MD-1 is open to any certified diver, or a diver-in-training completing an Open Water course from a recognized agency. It is the entry point of the pathway.

Can I skip ahead to a higher level?

No. MD-2 through MD-5 each require the previous Mindful Diving™ level, since the pathway builds skill and judgement in sequence.

What does the attestation checkbox actually confirm?

Before enrolling in MD-2 and above, you confirm that you currently hold the prerequisite Mindful Diving™ level (or verified equivalent) and that you are medically fit to dive under your own agency's standards. It is a statement of fact, not a formality.

What happens if I attest incorrectly?

Certification is a matter of trust between you, your agency and the water. Misrepresenting a prerequisite can void your credential and, more importantly, puts you and your buddies at risk.

Does finishing the online course make me certified?

The online course builds your knowledge: modules, checks and a final exam. Full certification completes in the water with a Mindful Diving Center™, where an instructor confirms your practice on real dives.

What actually happens during the water sessions?

You practise the same slow, continuous breathing and present-moment attention from the course, entirely inside your existing agency's dive plan and standards — nothing here replaces your certifying agency's procedures.

Is breath-holding part of any exercise?

Never on scuba. Every practice uses slow, continuous breathing only — breath-holding and skip-breathing are excluded from the standard entirely, for safety.

Could a mindfulness cue ever interfere with a critical moment?

No. Attention practices are never introduced during task-critical phases such as descents, ascents or gas management. Agency procedures and dive safety always come first.

How do I redeem a code from my dive center?

On your course overview page, open "Redeem a center code" and enter the seat code your center gave you. Your seat opens immediately.

Does the center see my progress if I redeem a code?

Accepted Answer

Yes — redeeming a center code shares your name, your course progress and your resulting credential with the center sponsoring you. No one outside that center sees it.

What if I paid directly instead of using a code?

If you enroll without a center code, your progress is private to you — no center is notified unless you redeem a code with them.

What can a center see on its dashboard?

Centers manage their own view at /learn/center — cohorts, seat codes issued, and the progress of divers who redeemed one of their codes.

What do I receive when I finish a level?

A digital credential with a unique credential ID, individually addressable and revalidated every three years to keep the standard current.

How can anyone check that my certification is real?

Yes. Every credential is also available as a digital wallet card, ready to show at a dive center without printing anything.

Yes. Every Mindful Diving™ course, from MD-1 to MD-5, is fully available in both English and Castilian Spanish — modules, exams and certificates alike.

Can I switch languages partway through a course?

Yes, at any time. Your progress is preserved regardless of which language you read a module in.
