Planeta Azul — the first National Geographic dive center in Spain, twenty-five years teaching the sea to thousands of students, guardians of the Cabo de Palos–Islas Hormigas Marine Reserve and European pioneers in diving innovation — joins the Mindful Diving Institute as a founding allied center, on its way to the Mindful Diving Center™ Seal.
This event inaugurates the alliance. FP20 wellbeing measurement runs before and after for consenting participants — the Research Lab's first field cohort.
The center that taught Spain to know and care for the sea now opens a new way to live it. Mindful Diving: not only being underwater, but being fully present in it.
THE MISSING LAYER
Why mindfulness and diving belong together
Thirty years of safer equipment and better procedures have made diving remarkably safe, yet that same safety has kept one essential thing in the background: training the mind to meet fear and panic when things stop going to plan. Panic has been implicated in diving incidents since Morgan's work in 1995, and still the culture holds a silence: almost nobody says out loud, on the boat, "I'm not at 100% today."
Water is the native home of presence. Attention, breath and buddy trust are already diving skills — every diver practises them without a name for the practice. We simply certify the layer that has always been left to improvisation.
Divers who feel more, stay. Every practice rides inside the existing dive plan and the diver's own agency standards, optional at every step. Slow, continuous breathing only — never a technique that touches gas management or a task-critical phase.
MD-1, MD-2 and MD-3 Mindful Dive Leader™ — PRO-ready certification
All training, materials and the three certifications
Friday evening: welcome and theory · Saturday: the day of presence, shared with the 1-day group · Sunday: leading another (MD-2) · Monday: holding the water (MD-3) and the Vow
Who it's for: Certified diver. No professional rating required — MD-3 is what makes you PRO-ready. Medical questionnaire required.
Equipment rental is available at the center. Every practice is optional at every step, always inside the dive plan and within the limits of your own agency.
The three certifications alone are €444 online. Here they are taught in the water, in the reserve — and the book comes as our gift.
