What Discover Scuba is
Discover Scuba is your first experience with scuba equipment, always beside an instructor. You need no certification or previous experience. You learn the essentials at the surface, practise in shallow water and, when you are comfortable, go down a few metres to see the seabed.
It is not a course and does not certify you to dive on your own. It is the safe way to find out whether diving is for you.
What makes ours different
A full day
No rush: time for the briefing, the equipment, the dives and the rest between them.
Two dives in the Reserve
In shallow, sheltered areas of the Cabo de Palos–Islas Hormigas Marine Reserve, with your instructor beside you throughout.
Presence before and after
A simple practice of slow breathing and attention before you enter the water, and a moment of integration when you come out. Never during the descent or ascent.
Counts toward MD-1
The dives and the practice count toward MD-1 Mindful Diver™, the first level of the Mindful Diving™ standard.
Who it is for
Anyone curious about the sea, with no previous experience. The minimum age is 12, following the center's rules, and minors take part with consent from a parent or guardian.
You need basic swimming ability and good general health. Before diving you will complete a medical questionnaire; if you answer yes to any question, you will need a doctor's clearance. Mindful Diving™ is education, not therapy.
What to bring
- Swimwear and a towel.
- Reef-friendly sunscreen and warm clothes for the boat.
- Water and a snack for the surface interval.
- Your ID or passport.
- The center provides all the diving equipment.
Price and dates
€199 including VAT, plus the Marine Reserve fees (€5 per dive), paid at the center. Next dates: 6–9 November 2026, as part of Diving into Presence, with participating center Planeta Azul.

Do I need experience for Discover Scuba?
No. It is designed for people with no experience at all. An instructor is with you at every moment and the depth is limited.
What is the minimum age?

Every practice here fits entirely inside your agency standards and dive plan. Slow, continuous breathing only — never breath-holding, skip-breathing or hypoventilation on scuba. No exercise during descents, ascents or gas management. Mindful Diving™ is education, not therapy, and complementary to, and independent of, SSI, PADI, CMAS and RAID.
