The method

我們不教水下冥想。我們透過潛水,培養當下的覺察。

Mindful Diving™ is not a separate practice bolted onto a dive plan. It is a way of running the dive plan you already know — with more attention, before, below, between and beyond the water.

水之藝廊

A single turtle crossing a wide reef wall in clear blue water.
A slow school of fish drifting over a sandy reef flat.
White branching coral standing still in deep blue.
A squadron of rays gliding over pale sand below a lone diver.
A gentle boulder reef in soft turquoise light.
A lone boulder on a sand plain with sharks patrolling above.

The practice arc

Seven practices, one arc

之前

  • Conscious breathing

Slow, continuous breathing anchors attention before entry and stays steady throughout the dive.

  • Conscious communication

Clear, calm signals and honest briefings and debriefs build trust within the buddy team.

  • Intention setting

A short, honest intention set on the boat carries into how the diver moves, watches and returns.

水下

  • Conscious breathing

Slow, continuous breathing anchors attention before entry and stays steady throughout the dive.

  • Mindful buoyancy

Buoyancy control becomes a moving meditation — small, attentive adjustments instead of reactive ones.

  • Non-judgmental observation

Watching the reef, the buddy team and the mind's own reactions without labelling them good or bad.

Between

  • Conscious communication

Clear, calm signals and honest briefings and debriefs build trust within the buddy team.

  • Emotional integration

The surface interval is used to name and process what came up below, before the next descent.

延伸至生活

  • Ocean connection

A felt sense of belonging to the reef translates into low-impact behaviour that lasts beyond the dive.

  • Intention setting

A short, honest intention set on the boat carries into how the diver moves, watches and returns.

The open protocol

四個步驟,任何人都能帶入原本就符合所屬培訓機構計畫的潛水中。

  1. 01

    Dedicate the dive

  2. 02

    下潛時,做三次長吐氣

  3. 03

    One still minute

  4. 04

    Gratitude at the safety stop

Non-negotiable

Safety first

  • 01Every practice fits entirely within the diver's existing agency standards and dive plan.
  • 02Slow, continuous breathing only. Never breath-holding, skip-breathing or hypoventilation on scuba.
  • 03No mindfulness exercises during task-critical phases — descents, ascents, gas management. Safety is the first mindfulness practice.
  • 04Reviewed by the Safety & Dive Medicine Board. Mindful Diving™ is never presented as therapy or medical treatment.

The science

Grounded in research, worn lightly

Research suggests that slow diaphragmatic breathing, at around 4 to 6 breaths per minute, is associated with greater parasympathetic activation — the body's rest-and-recover response.

Sustained, non-judgmental attention training is one of the most studied mechanisms in contemplative science, linked to lower reactivity and steadier focus over time.

A growing body of blue-space and nature-restoration research suggests that time in and near open water is associated with measurable gains in mood and perceived wellbeing.

Complementary, never competing

這不是新的潛水認證機構,而是多一層照顧。

Mindful Diving™ works inside your existing certification, with your existing agency — SSI, PADI, CMAS, RAID or any other. It never replaces dive training; it deepens what already happens underwater.
